Documentary and archival images

Documentary images are used only when their source, creator or holding institution, rights context and period relevance can be recorded. The public page names the visual type and credit; the internal image library retains source records, intended placements, technical variants and review decisions.

Object photography

Product photographs document the physical design, proportions and materials of historically relevant hardware or media. Product and company names are used for identification and cultural commentary. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship, affiliation or endorsement.

Editorial reconstruction

Some memories cannot be represented responsibly with a documentary photograph. In those cases NMA may use original editorial artwork to reconstruct atmosphere. Reconstructions are labelled as such and are not presented as photographs of a real historical event, room or person.

YouTube and external media

Third-party video remains on YouTube and is loaded through the privacy-enhanced embedded player only after a visitor presses play. NMA does not download or rehost third-party footage. The uploader controls availability, advertising, captions and playback. Every screening identifies its channel and source class and provides a direct YouTube fallback.

Trademarks and protected works

Names, logos, packaging and interfaces may appear where necessary to identify the subject of historical reporting, criticism or commentary. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. NMA avoids presenting protected frames, artwork or brand material as its own.
